Shooting In Humboldt Park Community Last Night

A shooting occurred in the Humboldt Park neighborhood around 9:20pm Wednesday evening, according to reports from Chicago Police Zone 12.

25th District (Grand Central) officers responded to a few calls of "Shots Fired" in the area of Keeler and North Avenue, and the 1500 block of North Kedvale at about 9:19pm. Two minutes later, a "person shot" call came into the 911 Center at Grand and Keeler. Three minutes later, a 21-year-old man was found shot behind 4162 West Grand, according to police. It is not known what part of body he was shot in. He was shot six times.

A couple of witnesses reported to police that two male Hispanics were involved in the shooting. They were both 18 or 19 years old. One had on a black tanktop and was chubby. The other one had on a white tanktop. They both fled in a 1994 Jeep Cherokee.

Two shell casings were found in front of 1516 North Kedvale, and a blood trail was found leading from 4162 West Grand all the way up into the east alley of Kedvale in the 1500 block.

The victim was taken to Cook County Hospital in an unknown condition.

A police report was filed with this shooting, and the RD number is HT453122 with the event number of 18846.

Numerous calls of gang disturbances followed the shooting on the 1500 block of North Kedvale.

Chicago Police are investigating this shooting.
