Drug Sales In 15, 15 People About To Fight At Augusta/Long

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:18pm. It's a pretty warm afternoon here in Chicago, but it's nice. It will remain nice for the next couple of days. Anyway, I'm monitoring Zone 12 today. This Zone is home to the Austin, Galewood, Mont Claire, Belmont-Cragin, Hermosa neighborhoods as well as portions of Dunning, Humboldt Park, Logan Square and Avondale (which I will not cover on this blog, since I already cover those areas). I will be specifically monitoring the Austin area, due to the level of crime and disorder in that area. With that, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

4:19pm - Drug sales in 15, on 1524's Beat and 1531's Beat.

4:27pm - Assault in progress. Augusta and Long. 15 people about to fight. There was a large fight at this intersection earlier.

4:46pm - Beat 2563Boy just heard some loud reports on the 1400 block of N Lotus.

4:47pm - Several calls of "Shots Fired" from 5544 W North, North/Linder, 5500 W North, etc. About 10 shots fired. This is most likely related to the 4:46pm loud reports.

4:52pm - Police are talking about the Lotus and North/Linder situations. They're apparently related.

5:00pm - Gambling. 52XX W Washington.

5:16pm - Shots Fired. 1600 N Luna.

5:51pm - Traffic accident. Division and Springfield.

6:02pm - Child abuse. 4909 W Division. Two small children are being abused by their parents.

6:05pm - Suspicious person. 16XX N Luna. Male Black in a white minivan with green and green stripes with no plates has been riding around the block.

6:12pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 1828 N Keeler. Two males in a vacant building.

6:13pm - Suspicious person. 17XX N Lockwood. Five to six males sitting on the caller's Honda. Caller doesn't know them and they're always harassing the caller's son.

6:14pm - Criminal trespass. 3000 N Cicero. Teens on the roof.

6:16pm - Disturbance. Belmont and Oak Park. At the Walgreens.

6:22pm - Assault in progress. 54XX W Monroe. Group of drug dealers arguing in the street.

6:23pm - Battery in progress. 5150 W Chicago. 20 people fighting in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station.

6:32pm - Assault in progress. Grand and Springfield. Group of three males surrounding a white van.

6:33pm - Narcotics. 49XX W Van Buren. Selling.

6:45pm - Narcotics. On 1531's Beat.

6:48pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 17XX N Parkside. Group of teens jumped the neighbor's fence, and they're out of town.

6:50pm - Disturbance. 5610 W Diversey. Group harassing people in front of the Aimco.

6:51pm - Battery in progress. West End and LeClaire. 20 teens fighting.

6:52pm - Person w/ a gun. Marmora and Schubert. Male wearing all black has a gun. He's with three other males.

6:53pm - Battery in progress. Laramie and Hirsch. Group of teens fighting by the park.

6:56pm - A slow down is being given on the 6:51pm job. Also, 2512 is giving a slow down on the 6:50pm call.

6:57pm - Battery. 9XX N Parkside. 14 year old pushed the caller's 8 year old down.

6:59pm - Gang disturbance. Springfield and Grand. Three males loitering and harassing passerby.

7:01pm - Person w/ a gun. 5922 W Roosevelt. Group of people fighting and they've got guns.

7:13pm - Shots Fired. Central and Harrison. Someone's shooting.

8:13pm - A 15th District unit is reporting "loud reports" at Ferdinand and Lockwood. Possibly from the 5300 block of W. Race, where the earlier shooting occurred.

8:16pm - Shots Fired. 53XX W Race. A male Black, 18 years old, white t-shirt and blue jeans with a black handgun tucked in his waistband fired five shots.
