Street Stop In Sherman Park, Subject Stopped On Madison

Good evening, everyone, it's 6:40pm. It's another warm evening in late July, and it's quite cloudy, as if it's going to storm again like it did last night. Those storms were pretty crazy. Tonight, I'm monitoring Zones 13, 10, 12 and 3. I'll be covering primary Zone 3. Also, tonight is the last night I'm blogging until Monday. I'm taking a vacation from both of my blogs, as I need a break. With that, here's crime for this evening.

6:42pm - Beat 956 has a street stop in Sherman Park.

6:48pm - Beat car 1124 has a subject stopped in the alley at 3041 W Madison.

6:51pm - Beat 2593 gets a parker on the PDT.

6:52pm - A 25th District unit has a stop at 6140 W North Ave.

7:38pm - Beat car 1332 is doing a park check at Starr. Event number is 16693.

8:03pm - Gang disturbance. Division and Ashland. At the Wendy's. Black car full of them.

8:17pm - Disturbance. Hirsch and Maplewood. Large group of kids congregated.

8:26pm - Battery in progress. Humboldt Park. Large fight ensuing.

8:27pm - Assault in progress. 3100 block of W Augusta. 50 people on the street about to fight.

9:16pm
- A unit is reporting that an explosion just occurred in the area of Milwaukee/North/Damen. It has something to do with ComEd.


9:18pm - It's a transformer that blew.

9:19 through 9:32pm - Number of reports coming in about this ComEd incident. Street lights are out on Milwaukee, traffic lights are out at Schiller and Damen, and the power's out at the Damen Blue Line station.

9:39pm - Disturbance. Walton and Mozart. 20 males loitering on the corner.

9:52pm - Narcotics. 25XX W Division. Drug sales in the parking lot.

10:40pm - Suspicious person. 21XX W Rice. Male with flipfops and an umbrella is knocking on the door and ringing all of the doorbells in the building.

10:53pm - Traffic accident. Hirsch and Western.

12:00am - All right, I'm gone. I'll be back to blogging from the scanner on Monday. Have a good weekend, everyone, and stay safe.
