BREAKING NEWS: Shooting In Belmont-Cragin Neighborhood

Breaking News: Within the last 20 to 25 minutes, a shooting has occurred in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood, per police dispatch on Zone 12. The shooting occurred around 11:40pm.

25th District (Grand Central) officers responded to several calls of a person shot and shots fired at the intersection of Linder and Wrightwood. Officers found a man in his mid 20s shot. Right now, it is not clear where he was shot at.

The victim told police, as well as several witnesses, that the offenders are either in a green car with some male Hispanics in it and a female driving it, or a male with a brown shirt. One anonymous 911 caller reported that the man in the brown shirt fled north on Linder towards Drummond. A sliver car may have also been involved.

A citizen flagged down an officer at George and Linder to report that the green car was seen heading east on George from Linder. It had its lights off.

In similar news, at 11:53pm, Grand Central officers responded to a call of Shots Fired at Barry and Parkside. Not totally sure if this is related to the shooting, but witnesses told police that a white Toyota with rims on it, filled with Maniac Latin Disciple gang members, was involved. Four gunshots were fired.

Chicago Police are investigating both incidents.
