Back-2-School For Year-Round CPS Schools: Day #2

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:30am. It's a sunny morning with temps in the lower 60s, and today will get to around 80 with sunshine. Monitoring Zone 13, then Zone 6, then Zone 10, and finally Zone 12. I'll start Zone  12 monitoring at 8am and will do that until 5pm. I'm particularly monitoring the schools today, as this is the second day back to school for the year-round CPS schools. We'll see how things go today. Here's crime.

7:33am - Battery in progress. 22XX W 37th. Group of gangbangers fighting.

7:50am - Suspicious vehicle. 34XX W 85th Pl. Green car with two male occupants inside, not sure how long they've been there.

7:52am - 1) Missing person report. 56XX S Racine. 35 year old brother with a mental history is missing. 2) Parker. 59XX S Kildare. White Ford truck parked on the residential.

7:54am - 1) Beat car 815 has a traffic stop at 43rd and Cicero. 2) Beat car 714 is doing foot patrol on the 5800 block of S Honore.

7:55am - Suspicious vehicle. 39XX W Division. Burned out auto in the back.

7:56am - Beat 1141 is being asked to do a school crossing in the 8am hour at Hamlin and Huron.

8:04am - Narcotics. 2XX N Lockwood. Two males selling in front.

8:38am - Beat car 1513 is doing a park check at Columbus.

8:39am - Missing person report. 24XX N Linder.

8:48am - Burglary report. 52XX W Schubert.

8:49am - Parker. On 2521's Beat.

8:50am - Traffic accident. 56XX W Madison.

9:03am - Assault in progress. 3XX N Parkside. Homeowner and city worker are arguing.

9:05am - The 9:03am job is now a "battery in progress".

9:07am - Burglar alarm. 20XX N LaPorte.

9:09am - Beat 1577Sam is doing a school visit at the Clark school, 1045 S Monitor.

9:10am - Burglar alarm. 5316 W Harrison. At the church.

9:15am - Traffic accident. 19XX N Lockwood. Oil truck VS a pole.

9:16am - Parker. 60XX W Belden.

9:21am - 1) Narcotics. West End and LaPorte. 15 males on the corner selling and loitering. 2) Disturbance. Lavergne and Ferdinand. Couple of males are harassing the caller.

9:26am - Beat car 2532 has a street stop at 14XX N Central.

9:28am - Landlord/tenant dispute. 24XX N Austin.

9:40am - Criminal trespass in progress. 21XX N Nagle. Someone's in the vacant house.

9:42am - Beat 49Tom19 has a traffic stop at 51XX W Division.

9:46am - Burglar alarm. 30XX N Major.

10:02am - Beat 2543 has a traffic stop at Armitage and Kenneth. She needs another car, she's got three people in the car and she's by herself.

10:22am - Residential alarm. 13XX N Mason.

10:28am - Beat car 2513 is doing a park check at Amundsen.

10:42am - Person w/ a gun. Monitor and Cortland. Male Black with a black tanktop and checkered shorts has a gun. He's standing next to a gray van.

10:44am - Beat 2562Charlie is giving a slow down at the 10:42am job.

10:49am - Beat 2506David is at 3112 N Central, the martini club, doing some sort of check.

10:51am - Vicious animal. 20XX N Kostner. Neighbor's dog scratched the caller.

10:52am - Disturbance. 51XX W Madison. Three non-residents loitering in front.

11:07am - CTA bus alarm. Harrison and Central. CTA bus #1247 has its alarm sounding.

11:09am - EMS run. 26XX N Laramie.

11:22am - Beat 2579 is doing a school check at the Young school.

11:32am - Residential alarm. 21XX N Natchez.

11:37am - Gang disturbance. Kenneth and Fullerton. They're flashing gang signs.

11:39am - The 11:37am job is a 19Boy.

11:47am - Criminal trespass. 1XX N Lotus. Squatter in a boarded up building.

11:59am - Traffic accident. Grand and Nagle. Two cars, property damage only.

12:09pm - Landlord/tenant dispute. 21XX N Latrobe. Landlord cut off the water.

12:12pm - Theft. 69XX W Nelson. Someone tried to steal a tire off the caller's car.

12:15pm - 1) Residential alarm. 21XX N LaPorte. From the garage. 2) Theft in progress. 51XX W Chicago. Someone's stealing a fence.

12:17pm - Burglar alarm. 50XX W Crystal.

12:28pm - 2579 has a traffic stop at 2600 N Killpatrick.

12:29pm - Check the well being. 2XX N Long. Male taking off his clothes.

12:42pm - Battery in progress. 1018 N Laramie. At the Hay school. Student fighting other students and teachers.

12:49pm - Burglary in progress. 49XX W Kamerling. Males inside taking things.

1:28pm - Beat 2582 is doing segway patrol on Fullerton from Cicero to Pulaski. Event number is 08548.

1:37pm - Parker. On 2512's Beat.

1:50pm - Beat 2544 has a female passed out in the women's bathroom at the Burger King, 4514 W Diversey. EMS is needed.

1:54pm - Narcotics. On 1562Eddie's PDT.

2:04pm - Alarm. 3XX N Central.

2:23pm - 10-1. Monitor and Arthington. Suburban police asking for emergency assistance. All available units in 15 and in 25 are being advised to go.

2:24pm - Good address on the 10-1 is 925 S Monitor. Berwyn PD is asking for help.

2:25pm - Quite a few units are on scene now, so a slow down is being given, per Beats 1550 and 6758Henry.

2:26pm - 1550 is telling 15th District officers to stay outside. Another slow down is being given.

2:29pm - 1550 is now giving a 19P on the 10-1. Berwyn PD is good. All the units from 15 can leave now.


3:31pm - Traffic accident. Grand and Moody.

4:01pm - 1) Burglar alarm. 4528 W Division. 2) Holding the offender. 4650 W North Ave. At the Walmart. Female offender being held because she switched a price tag.

4:11pm - Burglar alarm. 49XX W Polk.

4:38pm - Vice complaint. 5826 W Fullerton.

4:40pm - 1) Shots Fired. Kilbourn and Dickens. 2) Shots Fired. 2000 block of N Kilbourn.

4:45pm - Shots Fired. 20XX N Kenneth. Male Hispanic, 16 years old, with a black shirt and light-colored shorts has a gun and fire shots.

4:46pm - Shots Fired. Belden and Kenneth. Five shots fired.

4:47pm - Beat car 2523 says that the offender from the 4:45pm call ran into Hermosa Park, per a witness.

4:48pm - Shots Fired. Kenneth and Palmer. Male Hispanic with no shirt and a blue hat fired shots.

4:49pm - Beat car 2521 is saying that one of the offenders ran into the house at 2238 on Kenneth.

4:50pm - Traffic accident/Shots Fired. 21XX N Kildare. Caller's car crashed into a tree after having three shots fired at it, the offenders are known MLDs.

4:51pm - LOT of calls on "Shots Fired" in that entire area of Beat 2522. Calls are still coming in.

4:54pm - Beat car 2522 is giving information that an offender by the last name of Ortega lives on the first floor at 2238.

4:55pm - Battery in progress. Thomas and Pine.
