Back-2-School For CPS Year-Round Schools

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:45am. If you don't already know, today is the first day back to school for the year-round CPS Schools. We all know what that means. Kids off the street for the most part, doing school work and being with their friends, and in the case of the bad ones, acting a fool and causing trouble. Hopefully this school year will be better than most, and maybe it will, as the kids go longer now. Elementary schools go 7 hours and high schools go 7.5 hours. I'll be monitoring the schools tomorrow and Wednesday as well. Today, I'm monitoring Zones 3 and 12, as quite a few schools on these two Zones go back today, and we've had problems before with some of these schools, so I'm listening carefully today. With that, here's crime for today.

7:57am - Burglar alarm. 2725 W Division.

8:16am - Beat car 1333 is on a detail at Belder school for the time being.

8:17am - Parker. 8XX N Paulina.

8:20am - Disturbance. 1620 W Chicago. Group of men drinking by the shack.

8:30am - 1) Burglar alarm. 14XX N Milwaukee. 2) Suspicious person. 22XX W Warren. Male Black with a white t-shirt and white gym shoes was in the ComEd worker's vehicle. Sounds like a trespass.

8:32am - A 14th District unit is asking to be held down at the Lowell school, 3320 W. Hirsch, for a little while. Event number is 04259.

9:19am - Beat car 1331 is doing a CTA check at the Kedzie Green Line station.

9:42am - Disturbance. 23XX N Latrobe. Four to five guys camping out in the alley.

9:47am - Beat 2575Sam is doing a school check at Lovett, 6333 W Bloomingdale.

9:49am - Criminal damage report. On 1524's Beat.

9:57am - Beat 2506Henry has a street stop at 22XX N Laramie.

10:15am - Vicious animal. 700 N LeClaire. Loose dog on the street.

10:18am - 2575S is visiting the Ella Flagg Young school now, 1434 N Parkside.

10:33am - Traffic accident. Armitage and Kostner. Two cars in a funeral possesion involved in an accident, possible injuries.

10:37am - Assault in progress. 53XX W George. Caller's being threatened.

10:50am - Traffic accident. LeClaire and Superior.

10:51am - Information for the CPD. 5900 block of W Hirsch. Caller just saw a man involved in a robbery in Cicero last week. He's got locks in his hair and is wearing a black jacket and navy blue shorts. He just ran east on Hirsch. Caller no longer sees the guy and says they saw this information on TV.

11:01am - Beat 2506David has a street stop at 5611 W Diversey. Event number is 06233.

11:04am - 2575S is visiting the Lewis school, 1431 N Leamington.

11:10am - Beat 2574 is visiting the Cameron school, 1234 N Monticello.

11:16am - Person calling for help. 30XX N Kolmar. Something about a female.

11:17am - Beat 2506Charlie has a traffic stop at 54XX W Potomac.

11:20am - A slow down is being given on the 11:16am job per Beat car 2524.

11:26am - Burglar alarm. 58XX W Huron.

11:28am - 2574 is doing a school check at the Noble school.

11:37am - 1) Disturbance. 31XX N Major. Problem with the tenant. 2) Parker. 21XX N Nagle.

11:38am - Traffic accident. 1018 N Laramie. At the Hay school. Two cars in front crashed.

11:39am - Narcotics. Kamerling and Karlov. Drug dealers on the corner.

11:52am - Battery in progress. 56XX W Washington. Two teens beating up a man.

12:00pm - Assault in progress. 5906 W Roosevelt. Six to seven males arguing in front.

12:06pm - Parkers. On 2593's PDT.

12:10pm - Check the well being. 55XX W LeMoyne. Four year old daughter needs to be checked on, who lives with the caller's mom, that threatened to kill her.

12:17pm - Person calling for help. 28XX N Luna.

1:48pm - 2575S is now visiting Cameron.

2:20pm - Beat 2574 is now at Young. Event number is 09323.

2:26pm - Beat 2582 is doing foot patrol on Fullerton from Cicero to Kostner. Event number is 09700.

2:42pm - Person w/ a gun. Linder and LeMoyne. Large group on the street arguing and a male Black, 18, with rusty black jeans, has a gun.

2:51pm - Beat 1305 is doing park checks at Jefferson and Humboldt. Jefferson's event number is 10173 and Humboldt is 10176.

3:01pm - Burglary in progress. 14XX W Huron.

3:26pm - EMS run. Division and Humboldt. By the park. 55 year old man having a possible heartattack.

3:44pm - The 3:26pm job is coded 19Paul. Solely an EMS job. Guy's drunk and homeless.

3:46pm - 1305 is doing park checks at Smith and Union.

3:56pm - Disturbance. 1523 W Chicago. Men drinking in front.

4:17pm - Battery in progress. 48XX W Concord.

4:20pm - Traffic accident. Laramie and Montana. Two cars, no injuries.

4:26pm - Assault in progress. 4856 W Madison. Employee was just threatened.

4:31pm - Disturbance. 5142 W Chicago. Males loitering in front refusing to leave.

4:35pm - Alarm. 4500 W Cortland.
