Burglar Alarm On Schubert, Traffic Stop On Laramie

Good morning, everyone, it's 4:28am. It's a clear (very) early morning with temps in the upper 60s. It's still overnight, technically, but the sun will be coming up in a bit. I'm monitoring Zone 12 today, although I'll monitor some other Zones this evening as well. Also, I'm aware that the Taste of Chicago begins today, but because it's more than one day, I'm waiting to hear how it goes tonight. If I hear about major incidents tonight, I'll monitor it tomorrow night. Here's crime for today.

4:39am - Burglar alarm. 51XX W Schubert.

5:08am - Beat car 1524Robert has a traffic stop at 11XX N Laramie.

5:16am - 1524R needs a 25th District unit to head over to the Home Depot on Cicero to see if they're missing any plants.

5:24am - No missing plants from the Home Depot.

5:40am - Robbery. Congress and Lavergne. Male Black with a white t-shirt and gray/blue pants just robbed the caller of their money.

6:03am - Reckless driver. Austin and North Ave. Sliver Nissan with a plate of 802357 is running stop signs and is speeding at a high rate of speed.

6:07am - An RD number is being pulled from the 5:40am job. It's HV377013 with the event number of 02763.

6:11am - Disturbance w/ a mental. 18XX N Tripp. 58 year old male is acting up.

6:12am - Beat car 2535 has a problem with taking the 6:11am job. He thinks the ambulance should be transporting the patient. Dispatch tells him to take the job and if he has a problem, he needs to talk to his Sergeant. He replies that he's not talking to the Sergeant, he's talking to her. She then tells him she doesn't need this, and the officer doesn't need it either. Then she tells him to go home, she gets payed to do her job. LOL wow. Not taking sides on this.

6:28am - Beat 1595 has a traffic stop at Washington and Laramie. Beat car 1523 is with him.

6:49am - Burglar alarm. 15XX N Monitor.

6:58am - 1523 has a street stop at 48XX W Hubbard.

6:54am - CTA bus alarm. LaCrosse and Armitage. On CTA bus #1044 heading east towards Cicero.

7:08am - The 6:54am job is being coded as a 19Boy. Beat car 2515, the car assigned to the call, went as far east as Pulaski and didn't see the bus.

7:10am - Disturbance. 50XX W Jackson. Construction started too early.

7:13am - Barking dog. On 2511's Beat.

7:21am - Hold-up alarm. 18XX N Lockwood.

7:34am - Municipal ordinance violation. On 2514's Beat.

7:41am - Narcotics. On 1531's Beat. Sellings.

7:43am - Prostitution. On 2533's Beat.

7:51am - Disturbance. 51XX W Thomas. Neighbor is accusing the caller's son of stealing their TV and some other stuff.

8:01am - Disturbance. 52XX W Bloomingdale. Unknown female Black with red hair is pounding on the caller's door, demanding that she be let in. Caller says she looks old and confused.

8:39am - 1) Burglar alarm. 5200 W Fullerton. At the Bank of America. 2) Beat car 2511 has a street stop at 5612 W Diversey.

8:41am - Panic alarm. 2828 N Central. At the Aidi.

8:44am - 1) Disturbance. 48XX W Polk. Caller has a problem with basketball rims on their property. 2) Narcotics. 16XX N LeClaire. Selling.

9:03am - Child abuse. 25XX N Monitor. Kids are getting beaten by their grandmother everyday.

9:10am - Shots Fired. 40XX W Armitage. Couple of calls coming in. One call says that a biege SUV with a plate of X1721443 had a male in it who fired several shots on the street and then fled east past Pulaski. A female was driving. Another call says someone on the street is shooting back at the SUV.

9:11am - Shots Fired/Person with a gun. Armitage and Keystone. Three males, one a male Black with a white shirt, and two male Hispanics with blue and black shirts are walking towards Pulaski and they have guns. They're also getting shot at by the biege SUV.

9:12am - Alarm. 1210 N Waller. At the church.

9:15am - Parker. On 2511's Beat.

9:17am - Criminal damage. 40XX W Armitage. Bullet in the caller's window from the "Shots Fired" incident.

9:27am - 1) The 9:03am job is coded 19Adam. Just some neighbor nonsense. 2) Burglar report. On 2522's Beat.

9:37am - Suspicious vehicle. On 2521's Beat.

9:56am - Missing person report. 14XX N Massasoit.

9:58am - Burglary in progress. 1XX N Leamington. Male Black, small build with a light green plaid shirt and plaid shorts just went into the building where the owner recently passed away.

10:07am - Beat 2506Charlie is dispersing one for narcotics loitering at 5531 W North Ave. Console time is 10:07 and the console time is 05538.

10:10am - 2514 has a handwaver at Linder and Diversey and they're asking him to go to 28XX N Mango regarding a crowd or something. It might be just a couple of victims from an incident.

10:15am - Battery. 5300 W Congress. In the alley. Male Black, bald struck an AT&T employee in the head.

10:20am - EMS is needed on the 10:15am job. Also, the offender was wearing a gray or biege jersey, and blue jean shorts with long white socks.

10:32am - 1) 1595 has a traffic stop at 5201 W Jackson, in the gas station. 2) A flash is being given from the 9:56am job. Missing from the Massasoit address is a Gary Gibson, male Black, 16 years old with a birthdate of 21-Oct-95. He's about 5'4, 120 lbs, thin, last seeing wearing a red t-shirt and khaki cargo pants. This is per Beat car 2531, and 2510 is being notified.

10:36am - 1532 has a traffic stop at 8XX N Laramie.

10:38am - 1) Suspicious vehicle. 48XX W Monroe. Blue Chevy van supposedly has drugs in it. It has a tow ordered on it and it was moved to the vacant lot from the street. 2) Narcotics. 58XX W Superior. Male Black, medium complection wearing a green shirt and white pants is selling drugs and is known to carry a gun on him. He's by a green and blue minivan.

10:43am - Beat 2573 has a handwaver at the Home Depot at 2555 N Normandy by an employee who says that a male Black with a white shirt was being held for shoplifting but then he ran. He fled towards Narragansett.

10:48am - 2573 has a further description on the Home Depot incident. The male is 6'2 to 6'3, light-skinned and has black pants.

10:51am - Disturbance. 5XX N Lawler. Two male Blacks in white t-shirts are loitering and are possibly selling drugs.

10:52am - 1) Narcotics. Erie and Lavergne. Selling. Three males with no shirts are selling. 2) Narcotics. Parkside and Thomas. Selling. Male Black with a blue shirt and braids.

10:55am - Traffic accident. Belden and Austin. Two cars, no injuries.

10:56am - Traffic pursuit. Traffic pursuit. Avers and North Ave. Beat 2563Boy is pursuing a vehicle with a plate of L896248. Heading south towards LeMoyne on Avers.

10:57am - West on Hirsch from Springfield. This car's wanted for narcotics.

10:58am - Ok, 2563B's got the car stopped. 3940 W Grand. Beat 2563David is over there with them.

11:02am - Prostitution. On 1532's Beat.

11:03am - Assist the citizen. 5670 W Lake. Caller needs CPD to get their belongings in the apartment building. Management told them that CPD had to be there.

11:04am - 2563B is taking that subject in.

11:39am - Disturbance. 5500 block of W Congress. Elderly male with a hat and biege shirt is yelling, going up and down the block. Caller wants to make sure he's okay.

11:50am - Fire. 23XX N Newland. Oven.

12:42pm - Beat 1542 has a traffic stop at 1XX N Central.

12:45pm - Assault. 55XX W Washington.

12:49pm - Narcotics. 54XX W Jackson.

12:50pm - Person wanted. North and Kedvale. Caller sees the offender who battered them yesterday.

12:53pm - 1550 needs the units to go back over to Quincy. They're getting real rowdy again. This is stemming from an earlier dog-fighting incident at 5441 on Quincy where two arrests were made. The parties all live in the same building and they're fighting again. Multiple units en route.

1:01pm - Battery/holding the offender. 4501 W North Ave. At the Menard's. Male Black wearing all black beat up a security guard and now a citizen's holding him down. A cashier was injured during the incident, as they were trying to chase the offender.

1:02pm - An outside unit is on scene at the Menard's job, telling Dispatch about the 1:01pm job. She's sending 2542 that way.

1:09pm - Municipal ordinance violation. On 1556's PDT.

1:11pm - 1) Disturbance. 16XX N Lamon. 2) Missing person report. On 2532's Beat.

1:12pm - Gang disturbance. 40XX W Armitage. This is the SAME location of that shooting from 9am....

1:17pm - Criminal damage. 1XX N Lorel. Group of small children throwing rocks at the neighbor's house and they're not home.

1:22pm - Disturbance/person with a gun. palmer lockwood. Red Jeep Cherokee is driving around the area, harassing kids. Caller thinks they saw a gun, too.

1:27pm - Assault in progress. 1203 N Central. Male arguing with the cashier over a dollar.

1:30pm - 1522 has a traffic stop at 55XX W Adams.

1:35pm - Traffic accident. Keeler and Potomac.

1:37pm - Reckless driver. Madison and Central. Funeral pocession going on and the cars are driving crazy.

1:59pm - Backlog in 25 at 13:59 hours.

2:10pm - 1522 needs more cars on Quincy again, for the third time today. Multiple units en route.

2:15pm - A slow down is being given on 1522's incident. They're taking more people in. There were two arrests made earlier and now there's two more being made. One officer says this is going to be a problem location all night.

2:22pm - Beat 6753 needs a couple of cars at Waller and Chicago. There's a man wanted for murder walking down the street over there. Multiple units en route.

2:23pm - 6753 lost him up the street, but he's going to circle the street and try to locate him again.

2:24pm - Ok, the guy's been spotted again. Waller/Chicago. Running east towards Parkside.

2:25pm - Oh my God, it's a 10-1. 10-1 at Waller/Chicago. 5651 W Chicago in the barber shop, to be exact. He's in there.

2:26pm - All available units on the Zone are being advised to go to 5651 W Chicago. Sounds like there's a struggle in the officer's background.

2:27pm - Beat 1500, 15th District Commander, is giving a slow down at 5651 on Chicago. Offender is in custody. Units are rolling in hot.

2:28pm - Another slow down is being given. Units are still flying in.

2:29pm - A complete disregard is being given per 1500 and 1550. They have more than enough units on scene.

2:30pm - Again, another complete disregard. Units are STILL flying in. Meanwhile, EMS is needed. 6753 sustained some injures from the arrest.

3:03pm - Beat 2583 is doing his usual foot patrol on Diversey from Kilbourn to Cicero today.

3:20pm - Foot chase. Foot chase. 5441 on Quincy. Two males running. 1554 is chasing. One guy's got a white t-shirt and the other one has no shirt on. He's got on blue jeans and checkered boxer shorts underneath them. He also has dreads.

3:21pm - Running north on Lotus now, towards Jackson.

3:22pm - They have the guy with the white shirt in custody but the other guy's still running. Last seen near Jackson.

3:25pm - Beat 1585 has a possible at 5440 W Quincy.

3:30pm - Gambling. 5510 W North Ave.

3:36pm - Disturbance. 55XX W Washington. People loitering.

3:43pm - Assault report. 53XX W Congress.

5:43pm - Gambling. 2XX N LeClaire.

5:49pm - Beat 2520 needs 2583 to handle a car accident he on-viewed at Diversey and Cicero, in the Shell gas station.

6:14pm - Commercial alarm. 6454 W North Ave.

7:03pm - Fireworks. On 2511's Beat.

7:04pm - Person w/ a gun. 11XX N Central. Two male Blacks, 12 and 13 years old, have guns.

7:18pm - Battery in progress. 16XX N Meade. Boyfriend is fighting a drug dealer.

7:19pm - Disturbance. 60XX N Kedvale.

7:20pm - Reckless driver. Laflin and 49th. Red Dodge minivan, late 80s to early 90s, ran into the ditch and ran over a fire hydrant in the process.

7:26pm - 1) Barking dog. 30XX S Karlov. 2) Some call at 31XX S Ridgeway.

7:31pm - 1) Narcotics. On 321's Beat. 2) Information for the CPD. 71XX S Bennett. Group of males solicting a female Black with a black shirt and blue jean "booty" shorts. 3) Gambling. On 314's Beat..

7:49pm - Battery in progress. North and Keeler. In the alley.

7:51pm - Gang disturbance. 3001 N Central. At the Golden Nugget. Gangbangers arguing over a dog.

7:53pm - The 7:51pm job is now a "person w/ a gun". Someone's got a gun in their waistband, in the parking lot.


10:02pm - 1) Narcotics. 11XX N Lawler. 2) Narcotics. adams lockwood.

11:07pm - Holding the offender. 4650 W North Ave. At the Walmart.

11:23pm - Battery in progress. 14XX N Linder. People fighting.
