Tac Unit Disperses Two For Gang Loitering In 9, Disturbance On Ohio

Good evening, everyone, it's 8:00pm. It's a mostly cloudy evening with temps around 80. I'm monitoring Zones 13, 12, 11 and 4 this evening for about 10 minutes, but may come back with Zone 12 around 10pm or so, depending on how active the Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade remains. I'm covering that on another post. Here's crime for this evening.

8:01pm - Beat 962David is dispersing two for gang loitering somewhere.

8:03pm - Disturbance. 59XX W Ohio.

8:04pm - A 24th District unit is giving a slow down on a "battery in progress" call at 71XX N Ashland.

8:09pm - Beat 163David is responding to a call at 625 W Jackson. Not sure what the nature of it is yet, though.

8:10pm - I'm switching back over to Zone 2/Citywide 6 for the Gay and Lesbian Parade coverage in 10 minutes. I might be back later on this post. If not, good night. Standby for GLPP coverage...

10:02pm - Battery in progress. 5809 W North Ave.

10:04pm - Beat 1554 needs another car at 1XX N Lotus. He's got a bad radio and when dispatch tries to ask him questions, he gets mad.

10:05pm - Several units are going to 1554.

10:06pm - A slow down is being given on 1554's thing.

10:09pm - Backlog in 15 at 22:09 hours. Everyone's with 1554.

10:12pm - 1) Criminal damage. 1500 N Kostner. Three male Blacks damaging a stop sign in the parking lot. 2) Criminal trespass. 1315 N Monticello. Two males in the vacant building, doing drugs.

10:13pm - 1) Narcotics. 50XX W Superior. Large group loitering, drug dealing and etc. 2) Narcotics. XX N Parkside. Three male Blacks in front selling drugs.

10:15pm - Beat 2563Charlie has a street stop at Hamlin and Potomac.

10:18pm - 1554 is taking one in from Lotus. He thanks all the officers for the help.

10:20pm - Person w/ a gun. 41XX W Potomac. Male Black, red hat, white top and black shorts has a gun. He's sitting on the porch.

10:21pm - Explosion. 50XX W Van Buren. Keeps happening in the alley every minute.

10:22pm - Disturbance. 6401 W Belmont. Drunk guy in the store.

10:24pm - Gang disturbance. 19XX N Keystone. They're flashing signs in front.

10:25pm - Disturbance. Lake and State. At the elevated CTA station (Green Line). An announcement just came over the intercom telling everyone to leave the station. Caller's not sure what the problem is.

10:26pm - Battery in progress. Keystone and Cortland. Gangbangers fighting.

10:27pm - Assault in progress. Potomac and Mayfield. Ten males about to fight.

10:28pm - 1) Disturbance. 6656 W Grand. At Applesbee. 2) Loud music disturbance. 51XX W Wellington.

10:35pm - Shots Fired. Lotus and Washington.

10:42pm - Battery in progress. 1500 block of N Linder. 40 people fighting.

10:44pm - Shots Fired. 28XX N McVicker. Three heard and then the caller's window was busted out.

10:45pm - The 10:44pm job is fireworks.

10:58pm - Battery in progress. 15XX N Linder. 30 people fighting.

11:04pm - 1) Missing person report. 48XX W Congress. 2) Fireworks. 48XX W Congress. 3) Traffic accident. Washington and Cicero.

11:05pm - Person w/ a gun. Lotus and Washington. Man seen with a gun.

11:09pm - 1) Person w/ a gun. 54XX W Gladys. Two males running with guns. 2) Fireworks. 16XX N Tripp.

11:15pm - 1) Traffic accident. Lake and Austin. 2) Loud music disturbance. 30XX N Marmora.

11:23pm - Narcotics. 58XX W Superior. Seven people in front selling.

11:25pm - Beat 1555 has a foot pursuit. 4800 block of W Gladys.

11:26pm - East towards Cicero on Gladys, per 1555. Male Black, 6'2, red shirt.

11:27pm - 1555's offender is in custody.

11:30pm - Beat 2563Adam has a foot pursuit. Karlov and Cortland.

11:31pm - 2563A's offender is in custody.

11:32pm - 1) Person w/ a gun. 5800 S Bishop. 2) Person wanted. 3900 S Wentworth.
