Chicago Gay Pride Parade, 2013 Coverage

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:27am. I'm monitoring the Gay Pride Parade today that will be taking place today in East Lakeview and parts of Uptown. The parade starts at 12 noon and will starting at Montrose and Sheridan. The route will be as follows: south on Broadway to Halsted, south on Halsted from Broadway to Belmont, east on Belmont from Halsted to Broadway, south on Broadway from Belmont to Diversey, then east on Diversey from Broadway to Sheridan/Cannon Dr., where the parade will conclude. This parade is being held to celebrate the people in the Gay and Lesbian community, where a majority of the people live in Lakeview. I just want to make this very clear, here and now. I do NOT have anything against gays and lesbians. Although personally I think it is wrong, I do not monitor this parade based on my personal beliefs. I monitor this parade so that you, the reader, can see what is happening as the parade as the day progresses. I want all of you to be informed and to especially be safe, particularly to all of my Uptown and East Lakeview readers. To those who may be going to the parade, be safe and have fun, but make sure you listen to all orders given by the authorities and other organizers. I will be monitoring the parade from now until 10:30pm, or until all activities end (if before 10:30). With that, here is crime and information from the Gay Pride Parade for 2013.
