Chicago Police Officers Assaulted On McLean

Chicago Police are investigating an incident that occurred at approximately 2:37am this morning on the 4700 block of West McLean on Chicago's Northwest side in the Belmont-Craigin Neighborhood.

25th District officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the alley of an unknown nature, and as they attempted to question the involved parties, a man became combative with officers and started fighting. Officers resisted the assault, and a taser was discharged during the fight.

Multiple officers, including a few from other surrounding Districts, responded to the incident, and an arrest was made. One officer needed stitches after a hand injury that was sustained during the assault. Another officer was punched several times in the head, but appeared to be okay. The officer with the hand injury was transported to a nearby hospital.

An investigation remains underway.
