Man With Gun At Family Dollar On Chicago Ave.
Good morning, everyone, it's 8:18am. It's a sunny but pretty chilly morning. Today will only get into the mid 50s, with sunshine. I'm monitoring mostly only Zone 12 this morning, until 9:30am to be exact, and then I'll be back sometime early in the afternoon with Zones 2, 4 and maybe 5, to listen to how these Districts/Zones have been impacted by the recent changes made to their boundaries. Here's crime for today.
8:20am - Person w/ a gun. 5410 W Chicago. Male walking in front of the Family Dollar has a gun. He's wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.
8:23am - Beat 5753 is on scene and is saying that he went south on Lotus, towards Huron.
8:26am - They're saying this guy was initially held for shoplifting.
8:28am - Disturbance. 16XX N Monitor. Tow truck driver is having a problem with an irate citizen.
8:29am - The gun's supposedly in the guy's right pocket, in his waistband.
8:42am - 1) EMS run. 41XX W Wabansia. Grandma passed out. 2) Commerical alarm. 5135 W Fullerton. At the clothing store. 3) Parker. On 2535's Beat.
8:52am - Loose animal. 1400 block of N Lotus. Couple of dogs wandering the area.
9:00am - Parker. 2100 block of N Nagle. Cars parked while there's street cleaning going on.
9:05am - 1) Recover the stolen vehicle. LeMoyne and Lawndale. No occupants. 2) Disturbance. 3809 W Grand. At the clinic. Woman needs to be removed.
9:15am - Disturbance w/ a mental. 11XX S Mason. The roommate, who has a history of mental issues, needs to leave.
9:16am - Parker. LaCrosse and Palmer. Cars parked in the construction zone.
9:22am - Vicious animal. 11XX N Monitor. Two loose pit bulls.
9:27am - Traffic control. North and Central. The people fixing the street lights are requesting a unit to be there until they get the lights fixed.
