Theft At The Food 4 Less At North/Cicero

Good morning, everyone, it's 9:36am. It's a cloudy day so far with temps in the 70s. It's supposed to be really hot today, with temps in the mid to upper 90s, with sun. Crime will probably be up citywide today, and this weekend, especially it being Independence Day weekend. Due to the probability of high volume of 911 calls coming into the coverage area on my main blog, I will not be doing this blog Sunday and Monday. I'll return with this blog Tuesday after tomorrow. Anyway, so far, I'm covering Zone 12, which is home to the 15th and 25th Districts. But later in the day, I'll probably add coverage for other Zones/Districts. With that, here's crime for today.

9:37am - Theft. 4821 W North Ave. At Food 4 Less. Male stole some detergent items out of the store. He's now at the Burger King.

9:58am - Explosion. Central and Belden. Two loud explosions heard. Possibly gunshots or fireworks.

10:30am - Beat car 2511 is doing a park check at Bell.

10:37am - Shots Fired. Lamon and Huron. 12 shots heard.

10:59am - Battery in progress. Cicero and Rice. There's a fight between a group of drug dealers.

11:36am - Shots Fired. 1600 N Monitor. Someone's shooting.

11:37am - Shots Fired. Hirsch and Mason.

11:38am - A slow down is being given on the 11:36/11:37am jobs.

11:45am - Disturbance. 53XX W Hirsch. Group loitering.

12:50pm - Battery in progress. Ohio and Parkside. 15 kids fighting in the street.

12:51pm - A disregard is being given on the 12:50pm job. It's just the dismissal from Douglas High School.

1:05pm - Shots Fired. 139 S Parkside. By the school. A teacher heard gunshots in the area.

2:31pm - Battery in progress. Lacrosse and Armitage. Kids fighting in the street.

2:47pm - Person w/ a gun. Division and Mason. Male Black, black cap and blue/orange jersey has a gun. He's by the liquor store.

2:48pm - A slow down is being given on the 2:47pm job.

2:49pm - The 2:47pm guy has a plastic gun. It's not real.

2:53pm - Foot chase. Potomac and Mayfield. Running northbound. 2561Charlie is in pursuit.

2:54pm - Offender is in custody at 1458 on Mayfield, in the alley.

2:55pm - Criminal trespass. 5433 W Chicago. Former employee on scene.

3:38pm - Criminal trespass. 1755 N Melvina. People sitting on the steps to the vacant house.

3:51pm - Beat 1593 is getting a parker on Madison.

4:06pm - Holding the offender. 4951 W North. Person being held for shoplifting.

4:52pm - Shots Fired. Mango and Belden. One shot heard, six males who are 17 to 23 yrs of age are running from the scene. They were on the corners.

4:55pm - A slow down is being given on the 4:52pm job.

5:20pm - The 25th District just got a call in the station from Alderman Suarez's office. There's a group of males on the 2900 and 3000 blocks of N Central Avenue that need to be dispersed. I believe they're the local drunks.

6:00pm - Open hydrant. Hirsch and Springfield.

6:41pm - Person w/ a gun. 14XX N Leamington. Male with a gun in a bag is heading towards Hirsch.

6:53pm - Fireworks. 40XX W Kamerling.

7:02pm - Beat 1365Boy asks for a patrol mission event number for the 1800 block of W Washington. It's 17834.

7:04pm - EMS run. 20XX W Schiller. 89 yr old has low blood pressure.

7:05pm - Beat 5852 has an Evidence Tech request in 25, to take pictures of a line-up.

7:06pm - Parker. 175 E Delaware. FedEx truck in the tow zone.

7:07pm - Battery report. 31XX W Monroe. Female was beaten up in the alley.

7:09pm - Narcotics. On the 10 sector in 23.
